Pipe/Sewer Relining Services

Pipe Relining is a technique which is designed to minimise the negative environmental impact associated with the excavation of pipeline systems. Drains and sewers can suffer from root infiltration, corrosion, cracking or even total collapse.

Drainage 2000 Ltd offers cost effective solutions to the problem of drains which need repair and renovation. Pipe relining creates a "pipe within a pipe" solution for drainage maintenance. The life of damaged pipework can be extended by introducing new pipework within it. The benefits offered by relining include the avoidance of disruption, the fast return of the drain to its full functioning capacity and the saving of the expense associated with traditional excavation.

There are various different pipe relining techniques available, the most common is inverting a resin impregnated felt tube with a polyurethene coating through the damaged drain. This gives a sealed coating and it is moulded rigidly in place using water or air pressure. The result is a new pipe within the old one. The new pipe has the following properties if it is fully relined:

  • Is resistant to corrosion and chemical attack
  • Will prevent leaks or root penetration
  • Is resilient to ground movement
  • Has minimal cross section loss (typically less than 7%)
  • Improves flow characteristicsare

Cold cure and hot cure systems available depending upon host pipe size and conditions. Sophisticated robotic cutters are used to affect the repair and removal of obstructive roots from pipes. Where junctions are present we have the facility to re-open the connection by means of a lateral cutting unit.

The above system is also available for patch repair works to damaged pipes
